The recent Morocco-Spain border crisis was apparently a fake stunt orchestrated by US far-right politicians and Israel when 60,000 migrants entered Spain before heading back to Morocco voluntarily on the same day.
Many users on X were certain that US President Donald Trump and Israel were behind the bizarre border chaos.
US Congressman Thomas Massie called out the hypocrisy by exposing how two weeks ago elected US politicians passed a bill to transfer Spanish territory to Morocco. “Every Republican except me voted for it, but now THEY are acting shocked at the invasion,” he posted.
The bill supported a claim that the Spain-administered cities of Ceuta and Melilla were “located in Moroccan territory”.
Massie said that the language contradicted the reaction of some Republican lawmakers who later criticized the migrant crisis in Ceuta and warned about border security concerns in Europe.
The report does not directly transfer the territories or alter Spain’s sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla. Instead, it reflects language in a congressional committee document tilting in favor of Morocco.US President Donald Trump took advantage of the situation by saying that it serves as an example of the challenges posed by large-scale migration in different parts of the world.
