Pakistan’s textile exports surged 43.13 percent month over month to $1.81 billion in July 2026, marking a strong start to fiscal year 2026 to 27, according to provisional data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Textile exports increased from $1.27 billion in June and were 8.07 percent higher than the $1.68 billion recorded in July 2025. In rupee terms, exports stood at Rs. 504.34 billion.
Knitwear remained the largest textile export category, with shipments rising 46.60 percent month over month to $533.84 million. Knitwear exports were also 4.06 percent higher year over year.
Readymade garment exports rose 45.87 percent month over month to $459.99 million, while bedwear exports increased 47.13 percent to $308.50 million. Readymade garments recorded 15 percent year over year growth, while bedwear increased 4.16 percent.
Towels recorded the strongest month-over-month growth among the major textile categories, with exports jumping 60.35 percent to $106.36 million. Made up articles, excluding towels and bedwear, increased 58.51 percent to $77.21 million.
Cotton cloth exports rose 26.27 percent month over month to $141.59 million, although they were marginally lower year over year. Cotton yarn exports increased 3.91 percent to $66.53 million and were 18.69 percent higher than a year earlier.
Meanwhile, textile imports increased 5.37 percent month over month to $682.21 million in July from $647.43 million in June. Imports were also 14.82 percent higher than the $594.17 million recorded in July 2025.
Raw cotton imports fell 15.37 percent month over month to $186.34 million but increased 30.01 percent year over year. Imports of synthetic and artificial silk yarn rose 43 percent month over month to $125.84 million, while worn clothing imports increased 6.30 percent to $62.36 million.
Synthetic fiber imports rose 4.34 percent month over month to $72.42 million but declined 4.02 percent year over year.
