TCL is preparing to launch smartphones with an almost bezel-less display design, giving them a nearly full-screen appearance. The upcoming TCL P80 and P80 Pro are expected to feature extremely thin and evenly sized bezels, making them look more like flagship devices than mid-range phones.
Tipster Roland Quandt shared the first renders and key specifications of both devices. The tan-colored phone is reportedly the standard P80, while the gray model is the P80 Pro.
Both phones closely resemble the TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro, including their flat frames and pill-shaped rear camera modules. However, their displays reportedly lack the matte finish found on that model.
TCL P80 Leaked Specifications
The standard TCL P80 reportedly uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Elite chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Details about the phone’s display have not yet been revealed, although it is expected to feature the same slim-bezel design as the Pro model.
The P80 is also expected to include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Powering the device will reportedly be a 5,000mAh battery.
The TCL P80 could cost €300, or around $346.
TCL P80 Pro Leaked Specifications
The TCL P80 Pro reportedly features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,766 × 1,280 pixels and support for NXTPAPER mode.
It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Pro model also has a physical slider on its side. The button could activate NXTPAPER mode or mute notifications, although its exact purpose has not been confirmed.
Like the standard model, the P80 Pro is expected to include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
The phone will reportedly pack a larger 5,800mAh battery.
The TCL P80 Pro is expected to cost €350, or approximately $404. TCL has not yet officially announced either smartphone.
