Taxpayers Face Problems as FBR Suspends Key IRIS Feature

The Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to immediately restore the “Change in Particulars” facility, known as Form 181, on the IRIS portal for sales tax registered persons, saying its suspension has created significant operational and legal challenges for taxpayers.

In a letter addressed to Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Zubair Bilal, the association said taxpayers are currently unable to update essential business information through the IRIS system, disrupting routine business operations and affecting compliance with tax regulations.

The PTBA said the unavailability of Form 181 has caused unnecessary hardship for genuine taxpayers who need to make timely amendments to their registration details in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

The association urged the FBR to restore the facility at the earliest, stating that doing so would help facilitate taxpayers, support smooth business operations, and strengthen voluntary tax compliance through the IRIS portal.
