Construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad M-6 Motorway will formally begin next month, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for November, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan said.
In a statement posted on X, Aleem Khan said preparatory work on the long-awaited project was progressing rapidly and that construction, which has remained pending for 30 years, is finally set to begin.
He said the M-6 Motorway would boost trade and commercial activities in Sindh and across Pakistan, while supporting economic growth and regional connectivity.
The minister said President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be specially invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.
He added that the Sindh chief minister and members of the provincial cabinet would also be invited to the event.
Aleem Khan described the M-6 Motorway as a major milestone for the development and prosperity of Sindh and Pakistan.
