Students Go to Court Against MDCAT 2026 Question Paper and Answer Keys

Ten MDCAT students have approached the Sindh High Court (SHC), asking the authorities to make the exam question paper and official answer keys public.

Along with this, the students asked the court to stop the final merit list and medical college admissions until the issue is resolved.

Advocate Muhammad Nawaz Dahri filed the petition on their behalf.

Six parties have been named in the case, including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Sukkur IBA University, and Jinnah Sindh Medical University.

The students asked the court to order the authorities to upload the MDCAT question paper and answer keys within three days.

Candidates want the original paper to check their answers properly. They also want to raise objections if they find any mistake in the answer keys.

Authorities held the MDCAT on September 20. After the exam, they gave students carbon copies of their answer sheets but did not allow them to take the question paper.

Some candidates asked the exam staff for a copy of the paper, but the staff refused their request.

According to the petition, students cannot properly check the answer keys without seeing the original questions. This also makes it difficult for them to challenge any answer they believe is incorrect.

Advocate Dahri said a difference of just a few marks can change a student’s merit position. It can also affect their chances of getting admission to a medical college.

The petitioners have asked the court to stop the merit list and admission process. They want the authorities to first release the question paper and answer keys.

They believe making both documents public will help make the MDCAT process more transparent for students.
