Stray Dog Bite Claims 2 More Lives in Sindh

Two more children have died from rabies in Sindh. Hospital officials said both children died at Indus Hospital Karachi after contracting rabies.

One of the victims was a six-year-old girl, Abiha, daughter of Nauman, from Airport Road in Latifabad, Hyderabad. She was brought to the hospital after developing rabies.

The second victim was four-year-old Waqar, son of Sultan, from Razi Khan village in Dadu district. He was also taken to Indus Hospital Karachi after contracting the disease.

According to hospital officials, neither child had received the anti-rabies vaccine.

Indus Hospital Karachi has now recorded 28 rabies deaths. Indus Hospital Badin has reported one death, while Jinnah Hospital Karachi has recorded eight deaths.

Dog-bite cases have also reached high levels at major hospitals in Karachi. Officials said Indus Hospital Karachi has received more than 14,000 dog-bite cases so far.

Jinnah Hospital Karachi and Civil Hospital Karachi have each recorded around 11,000 cases.
