Spotify is bringing its audiobook service to Pakistan as part of a major expansion that will make audiobooks available in more than 180 markets by the end of 2026.
Audiobooks are currently available in 22 markets. The expansion will allow Spotify’s 750 million users worldwide to stream or purchase books through the platform.
More Than 350,000 Audiobooks
Listeners in the newly supported markets, including Pakistan, will gain access to more than 350,000 titles across over 120 languages.
Spotify is also adding new catalogs in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Polish.
The company says its partnerships with authors will remain non-exclusive.
Users in new markets will be able to access audiobooks in three ways: through audiobooks included with a Premium subscription, through Audiobooks+, or by purchasing titles directly.
Audiobooks+ Is Also Expanding
Starting in November, Student plan subscribers in Ireland, Belgium, Austria, and Finland will be able to purchase additional listening hours through Audiobooks+.
Spotify says Audiobooks+ has already passed one million subscribers and generates more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
Page Match Is Getting an Upgrade
Spotify introduced Page Match in February, allowing readers to switch between a printed book or e-book and its audiobook while keeping their place.
More than one million readers have used the feature.
Spotify is now adding support for page numbers. Users will be able to scan a book’s ISBN barcode and enter a page number to locate the corresponding position in the audiobook.
Pakistan appears on Spotify’s official list of markets scheduled to receive audiobook access by the end of 2026.
