Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has claimed that the deal is almost done with goods transporters to end their strike.
Earlier, Advocate Muhammed Owais Chaudhry told ProPakistani that transporters are not close to finalize any deal with government officials and today marks their 7th consecutive day on strike.
Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (KCCI) 79th Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony, Murad directed the provincial transport department to expedite efforts to resolve the remaining issues and restore normal transport operations.
Addressing the business community, Shah said Pakistan could increase its exports from around $30 billion to $100 billion by reducing the cost of doing business, improving industrial competitiveness and making better use of Sindh’s indigenous energy resources.
He said Pakistan had demonstrated its strength on the military and diplomatic fronts and now needed to achieve similar success on the economic front through cooperation between the government and the private sector.
