The Senate has approved a bill granting lifetime blue passports to serving and retired senators.
This is the same privilege available to members of the National Assembly.
The Passport Act Amendment Bill was passed by the upper house today. These changes will allow both current and former senators to hold blue passports for life.
The Senate also approved a Criminal Laws Amendment Bill.
