ECP registered 4,761 new companies in August 2026, taking the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 311,765.
The regulator said 99.9 percent of registrations were completed online during the month, while three foreign companies also entered Pakistan.
Of the new registrations, 2,762 were private companies and 1,846 were single member companies. The IT sector led with 872 new companies, followed by trading with 732, services with 601 and construction with 295. Tourism accounted for another 232 registrations.
Punjab recorded the highest number of new companies at 2,547, followed by Islamabad with 843, Sindh with 702 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 407. Gilgit Baltistan registered 151 companies, while Balochistan recorded 111.
The SECP said 134 foreign investors invested in newly registered companies during August, including 106 Chinese investors. The SECP chairman attributed the rise in company registrations to growing business confidence and digital transformation.
