Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves witnessed another huge increase during the week ended September 11, 2026.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), its foreign exchange reserves rose by $3 billion over the week to $21.389 billion, up from $18.328 billion a week earlier.
This is the highest level attained by the central bank’s dollar deposits in history.
The country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at $26.791 billion as of September 11, up by $3.075 billion.
This includes $21.389 billion held by the SBP and $5.402 billion maintained by commercial banks.
Reserves with commercial banks are up by $15 million compared to a week earlier.
Earlier this week, Topline Securities said the SBP’s reserves had reached $21 billion following Eurobond inflows.
This also exceeded the $21 billion target set for June 2027. SBP is expected to share a revised reserves target by the next monetary policy meeting.
