Samsung has quietly made the Galaxy A08 official by listing the budget smartphone on its websites in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The company did not issue a dedicated press release or hold a launch event. The phone had already appeared through an online retailer in the UAE before Samsung added it to its official regional websites.
Design and Display
The Galaxy A08 features a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels.
Samsung has also given the phone an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
The device supports dual SIM cards and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and fingerprint sensor.
It is available in Silver, Green and Dark Blue.
Internals and Software
Samsung has not named the chipset, but confirms an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz.
The processor is paired with 4GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded further.
The Galaxy A08 runs Android 17 with One UI 9 out of the box.
Samsung is promising six major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, giving the entry-level device unusually long software support.
Cameras
The Galaxy A08 has a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture.
It is joined by a 2MP auxiliary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.
Battery and Pricing
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery, which is 1,000mAh larger than the battery inside the Galaxy A07.
In fact, based on Samsung’s currently published specifications, the larger battery appears to be the main difference between the Galaxy A08 and its predecessor.
Samsung has not announced European pricing yet.
The phone was previously listed in the UAE for around $170, although regional prices may vary.
