Samsung is reportedly preparing a major software overhaul for Galaxy smartphones in 2027, with One UI 10 potentially bringing a substantially different interface and deeper artificial intelligence integration.
Tipster Ice Universe claims the update could introduce changes described as unprecedented. One UI 10 is expected to run on Android 18 and could arrive around the middle of 2027, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Galaxy Z Flip 9.
Samsung has not officially confirmed One UI 10 or its release schedule.
One UI 10 Could Change How Apps Work Together
The reported redesign could focus on bringing related information together through a more contextual interface.
For example, calendar events, location details and conversations could become accessible through more connected workflows instead of forcing users to move between several separate apps.
The goal would reportedly be to reduce unnecessary taps, simplify common tasks and make navigation smoother.
AI Could Play a Bigger Role
Artificial intelligence is also expected to play a central role in the update.
Samsung is reportedly working on deeper AI integration across its software, alongside better continuity between Galaxy smartphones, tablets and wearables.
However, the exact AI features and the scale of these changes remain unclear.
One UI Could Be Renamed Galaxy OS
Another rumor suggests Samsung could rename One UI to Galaxy OS as part of the overhaul.
The possible rebrand remains unconfirmed, and it is not yet clear whether Samsung plans to introduce a completely new software identity or continue using the One UI name.
Some AI Features Could Require a Subscription
There are also claims that Samsung could eventually place some advanced AI tools and third-party integrations behind a subscription.
Essential everyday features would reportedly remain free, while more computationally intensive AI services could become paid.
Samsung has not announced any subscription pricing or confirmed which features, if any, would require payment.
If the reports are accurate, One UI 10 could represent a much bigger change than Samsung’s usual yearly software updates. The company may also release developer previews before the wider public rollout.
