Sahir Lodhi Booked in Extortion Case

A police case has been registered against TV host and actor and Dr. Shaista Lodhi’s brother Sahir Lodhi and his alleged accomplice Faisal Zia over allegations of extorting Rs. 4 million from a widow.

The case was registered at Shah Latif Town Police Station on the complaint of a resident of Landhi’s Majeed Colony, Karachi.

According to FIR No. 1569/2026, the police was informed that she met Sahir Gohar Lodhi through Faisal Lashkarwala and allegedly gave Rs. 4 million for investment purposes.

The woman alleged that Lodhi later made two payments to her, one of Rs. 2.5 million and another of Rs. 4 million. She also alleged that seven cheques were issued for repayment, reportedly ranging between Rs. 8 million and Rs. 9 million.

The widow deposited the cheques at the Quaidabad branch on their respective due dates, but all of them bounced.

She further alleged that after informing Lodhi about the failed payments, he issued another cheque for Rs. 4.4 million, which she said also failed to clear.

The complainant alleged that after contacting Lodhi again, his friend Faisal Zia issued a Rs. 2 million cheque, which also was not cleared by the bank.

After several unsuccessful attempts to recover the money, the widow’s petitioner approached the court and filed an application under Sections 22-A and 22-B of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Following the court’s order, the police registered a case against Lodhi and Zia and began investigating the matter.

The allegations have not been proven in court. The final status of the case will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation and subsequent court proceedings.
