The Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation Department has launched a One-Window Facilitation Centre to provide citizens with faster access to government services and resolve their issues at a single location.
Under the new system, dedicated staff have been stationed at the reception of the Excise and Taxation Office to receive applications and direct them to the relevant departments.
The facility will handle issues related to property tax, professional tax and motor vehicle tax. Officials have been instructed to resolve applications and complaints within two days, reducing the need for citizens to make repeated visits to the office.
Director Excise and Taxation Nauman Khalid will personally oversee the system to ensure timely action on applications and complaints. Khalid said providing relief to citizens remained the department’s top priority and that the new system would make the process more transparent, efficient and responsive.
He added that the one-window facility would be fully computerized after the initial phase. The upgrade is expected to improve application tracking, record management and the timely resolution of public complaints.
Khalid also said his office would remain accessible to citizens seeking solutions to their problems and that officials would make every effort to provide immediate relief wherever possible.
