Punjab authorities have decided to link the post office’s delivery system with the Traffic Police’s Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) to address delays in delivering driving license cards.
Currently, DLIMS only shows whether a license card is being processed or printed. After the planned data integration, citizens will also be able to track their cards and check their current location.
The new system will provide online details about the card’s handover from the traffic police to the post office, its delivery status and its current location.
Officials said traffic police also faced difficulties checking license delivery data under the existing system. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has been contacted to facilitate the required data integration.
Authorities expect the new system to improve monitoring and help ensure that driving license cards reach citizens within the prescribed time.
