Punjab Orders All Public and Private Schools to Use New Security App

The Punjab School Education Department has directed all public and private schools across the province to implement the Educational Institutions Security Status (EISS) Mobile Application and Web Portal.

The directive was issued by the Directorate General (Monitoring and Evaluation) through a letter dated August 23, 2026, addressed to all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs).

CEOs have been instructed to circulate the directions among heads of public and private schools and ensure their implementation.

The EISS platform has been developed following directions from the Punjab Home Department as part of an effort to create a centralized digital database containing security-related information of educational institutions across the province. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was tasked with developing and operationalizing the system.

Under the new system, schools will be required to log in to the EISS mobile application or web portal using their existing or designated official credentials and provide details about security arrangements and other mandatory parameters.

School administrations have also been directed to ensure that the information entered into the system remains accurate, complete, current, and regularly updated.

The platform will serve as a centralized repository for monitoring security measures at educational institutions and will allow authorities to review compliance across the province in real time.

The EISS system will also form part of Punjab’s five-tier monitoring mechanism for educational institutions. At Level-I, schools will conduct self-assessments of their security arrangements through the EISS platform.

According to the department, the centralized system will help authorities monitor prescribed security requirements, improve administrative oversight, and use the collected information for data-driven policymaking related to the security of educational institutions.
