Punjab Opens New Walkway at Data Ganj Bakhsh Shrine

Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, on Friday inaugurated a newly built passage at the shrine complex of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA), popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, to improve accessibility and ease devotees’ movement.

During his visit, Ali Dar, who also chairs the Ravi Project Committee (RPC), reviewed ongoing construction and development work across the shrine complex.

Speaking on the occasion, he said providing better facilities to devotees visiting Data Darbar remained a priority of the Punjab government under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He said the newly developed passage would improve visitor movement, strengthen crowd management, and reduce difficulties devotees face, particularly during periods of heavy footfall.

Ali Dar said various development initiatives were being undertaken to accommodate the large number of visitors and provide them with a safer, more comfortable and accessible environment.

He emphasised that the preservation, restoration and development of historical and religious sites were among the government’s priorities, stressing the need to maintain quality standards and complete ongoing projects on time.

He said serving devotees visiting the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), which holds immense spiritual and religious significance, was a matter of honour, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving facilities, accessibility and visitor arrangements at Data Darbar.
