The Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department (HUD & PHED) has approved mandatory fire safety training for staff deployed at all Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) disposal stations across Punjab.
Following the approval, Punjab WASA has directed all managing directors to immediately coordinate with their respective district offices of Rescue 1122 to arrange structured, hands-on training sessions for staff working at each disposal station.
The initiative is aimed at standardizing fire safety practices and improving the ability of field staff to respond effectively during emergencies.
The training will cover basic fire safety, identification of potential hazards, and emergency response procedures, along with practical sessions conducted in coordination with Rescue 1122.
WASAs have also been instructed to maintain high-resolution video recordings and photographic documentation of the training sessions held at every disposal station.
Complete compliance reports, along with video recordings of the sessions, must be submitted to Punjab WASA and the HUD & PHED secretary for centralized monitoring and record-keeping.
The directive has been issued with the approval of the Punjab HUD & PHED secretary.
