The Punjab government has launched a real-time air quality dashboard that integrates ground monitoring, satellite imagery, weather data, and air pollution forecasts to help authorities identify pollution hotspots and take timely enforcement action.
The dashboard has been developed through collaboration between the Punjab Environment Protection Agency and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development.
Officials said the province’s air quality monitoring network has expanded significantly, rising from three stations in 2024 to 59 at present.
They added that the network will be expanded further to 100 monitoring stations in the next phase.
The new system is expected to improve pollution tracking, strengthen enforcement, and support faster response measures in affected areas.
