Punjab has included university students in the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Advisory Board for the first time in the country’s history, giving young people a direct role in sports policy discussions.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar chaired the first introductory meeting of the SBP Advisory Board at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. Sports Board Punjab Director General M. Tariq Qureshi, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, and male and female students from leading universities attended the meeting.
Addressing the participants, Faisal Khokhar said young people represent Pakistan’s future and their meaningful participation in sports-related decisions remains essential.
He said the formation of the advisory board goes beyond an introductory meeting and marks the start of a new approach in which young people can directly contribute to shaping the future of sports in Punjab.
The minister emphasized the importance of giving university students a platform to share their perspectives and participate in discussions concerning sports policy and development.
