Punjab’s Environment Department has demolished illegal fat melting, limb roasting and bone crushing units in the Sherakot and Babu Sabu areas on the direction of DG Environment Syed Musa Raza.
A spokesperson said the action was taken for violating the Environmental Protection Act 1997. The department has also ordered heavy fines and legal cases against those responsible.
Syed Musa Raza said authorities are strictly enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against people and businesses that cause environmental pollution.
He said violators will receive no leniency and similar operations will continue in the future to protect the environment.
