The Punjab School Education Department has announced new timings for public and private schools across the province ahead of their reopening on August 24, 2026, after the summer vacation.
According to a notification issued on August 21, all public and private schools across Punjab will operate from Monday to Friday with effect from August 24. The department has separately specified the opening and closing hours for public schools, which will remain in effect until October 15, 2026.

The notification said the new timings for public schools will remain applicable from August 24 to October 15.
The School Education Department has directed all Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities (DEAs) across Punjab to ensure compliance with the new schedule. The department has also allowed concerned DEA chief executive officers to adjust the 15-minute gap in the opening and closing times of girls’ schools in their respective districts according to local convenience.
The notification was issued by Mudassir Riaz Malik, Secretary of the School Education Department, following approval from the competent authority.
