The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has invited suppliers to submit bids for a spam protection system with licenses for its employees, according to a PTA procurement document.
The system is intended to protect employees’ official email accounts and strengthen the security of PTA’s internal communications, according to sources.
It is expected to filter unwanted emails and help detect phishing links, malicious attachments, and messages impersonating trusted senders. These are common uses of spam protection systems, sources said.
The licenses would allow the protection to cover PTA employees’ email accounts. The proposed system is also intended to help ensure that incoming official emails remain available if the authority’s main email service is temporarily disrupted.
According to the sources, the purchase concerns PTA’s internal email communications. It is not a system for blocking spam calls or text messages received by the public.
