Private schools recorded a considerably higher pass percentage than government schools in the BISE Lahore 9th Class Result 2026.
An analysis of the Lahore Board result gazette shows that 70.92% of regular candidates from private institutions passed. Government institutions recorded a pass percentage of 39.98%.
Private schools, therefore, led government schools by 30.94 percentage points.
They also produced more successful candidates despite having 21,894 fewer students appearing in the examination.
Private vs. Government Schools Result
A total of 101,079 regular candidates from government institutions appeared in the SSC Part-I First Annual Examination. Of these, 40,409 passed.
Private institutions had 79,185 regular candidates, with 56,157 passing the examination.

Private institutions recorded 15,748 more successful candidates than government institutions despite having a smaller group of students.
The comparison only covers regular candidates enrolled in government and private affiliated institutions. It does not include candidates who submitted admission forms privately.
Female Students Recorded the Best Results
Female candidates performed better than male candidates in both government and private institutions.
Private-school girls recorded the strongest performance. A total of 42,049 appeared, and 32,765 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 77.92%.
Among private-school boys, 37,136 appeared and 23,392 passed. Their pass percentage stood at 62.99%.
Government-school girls achieved a pass percentage of 48.13%, while boys from government institutions recorded 28.86%.

Private-school girls led government-school girls by 29.79 percentage points.
The gap was even wider among boys. Private-school boys outperformed government-school boys by 34.13 percentage points.
Girls also maintained a clear lead over boys within both sectors. The gender gap stood at 19.27 percentage points in government institutions and 14.93 points in private institutions.
Group-Wise Comparison
Private institutions recorded a higher pass percentage in all three major groups covered by the gazette.

Overall Lahore Board Result
The BISE Lahore result covers regular and private candidates from Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib.
According to the gazette, 280,676 candidates appeared in the 9th Class examination. A total of 130,543 passed, producing an overall pass percentage of 46.51%.
Regular candidates achieved a pass percentage of 53.57%, while candidates who applied privately recorded a pass percentage of 33.84%.
These private candidates should not be confused with regular students enrolled at private schools.
Who Performed Better?
Private institutions dominated the BISE Lahore 9th Class Result 2026 when performance is measured by pass percentage.
They achieved a higher pass rate among boys and girls and maintained their lead across the Science, Arts and Technical groups.
Government institutions had more regular candidates, but private schools produced more successful students and recorded a considerably higher overall pass percentage.
Private-school girls emerged as the strongest-performing category, with nearly eight out of every ten candidates passing the examination.
