Police Arrests Suspect for Forgery and Impersonating Government Officer

A man identified as Saeed posed as a lawyer and entered the Punjab Home Department, claiming to be a deputy prosecutor general and a senior official.

According to police, the suspect also demanded government records and security arrangements.

He even claimed that he had been secretly appointed by the Supreme Court.

Police said suspicions arose after contradictions were found in his statements, following which an inquiry was launched and he turned out to be a fraudster.

Fake cards from various government institutions were also recovered from the suspect.

DIG Operations said Islampura police had registered a case against the man under charges of fraud, forgery and impersonating a government official.

Further investigation into his real identity and the fake cards is under way.
