Sources told ProPakistani that the prime minister is expected to issue directives during the meeting regarding the proposed reforms.
Pakistan has assured the IMF that it will deregulate the sugar sector as part of its reform commitments, according to sources.
Sugar mill owners have repeatedly called for complete deregulation, arguing that the industry should operate under free market principles with less government intervention.
The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association has maintained that the sector should be allowed to function according to market forces rather than remain subject to extensive government controls.
