The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has ended free electricity units for its employees and replaced them with monthly cash allowances based on pay grades, ARY News reported.
The PESCO Board of Directors approved the monetisation of power benefits for company staff.
Under the new policy, the company has issued the following monthly compensation rates:
- Grade 17: Rs15,858 per month, replacing 450 free units
- Grade 18: Rs 21,996 per month, replacing 600 free units
- Grade 19: Rs 37,954 per month, replacing 880 free units
- Grade 20 officers: Rs 46,992 per month, replacing 1,100 free units
The monetisation policy will remain subject to the rules, regulations and conditions set by the Federal Power Division.
