The underpass forms part of the Rs. 10 billion Park Road infrastructure project, which also includes an overhead structure, service roads and other road infrastructure.
The project aims to improve traffic flow and connectivity between Park Road, Margalla Avenue and surrounding areas while reducing congestion, travel time and fuel consumption.
In June, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry told the Senate that the first phase of the project, comprising the underpass, would likely be completed in July. He said the remaining work would finish in August.
