Pakistani students seeking undergraduate study opportunities in the United States can apply to Binghamton University and receive automatic consideration for its Achievement Scholarship.
Binghamton University awards the scholarship to 25 incoming first-year students each year. Twenty students receive $10,000 per year, while five can receive up to approximately $30,000 per year, equivalent to the university’s in-state full cost of attendance. Both awards can continue for up to four years if recipients maintain the required GPA.
International students can receive a limited number of scholarships through Binghamton’s admission process. Students do not need to submit a separate application for the Achievement Scholarship.

How Much Financial Support is Available
Binghamton University divides the Achievement Scholarship into two award levels. Twenty incoming first-year students receive $10,000 each year for up to four years.
Another five students receive funding of up to the in-state full cost of attendance, which the university describes as approximately $30,000 per year, also for up to four years.
Students must maintain the GPA specified in their scholarship conditions to continue receiving the award.
If a recipient fails to meet the minimum GPA requirement in a later year, a university committee can select another student from the same class year to receive the available scholarship funding.
Is the Scholarship Fully Funded for International Students
International applicants should note that the top award does not necessarily cover their entire cost of studying at Binghamton University.
The approximately $30,000 award is linked to the in-state cost of attendance, while international and other non-resident students face higher overall costs.
For 2026-27, Binghamton lists an estimated annual cost of attendance of about $55,716 for out-of-state students, before individual circumstances and future fee changes.
Pakistani applicants should therefore plan for any remaining tuition, housing, food, travel, insurance, and personal costs not covered by their scholarship.
Who Can Apply
The Achievement Scholarship targets outstanding incoming first-year undergraduate students. Binghamton University automatically considers undergraduate applicants for scholarships during the admission process. Selection is highly competitive.
The university considers several factors when awarding scholarships, including academic merit, intended major, program participation, donor preferences, and, for some awards, financial need.
International applicants, including students from Pakistan, can apply for first-year admission and may receive scholarship consideration through the admission process.
Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet Binghamton University’s undergraduate admission requirements and present a strong secondary-school academic record.
The university does not publish a separate fixed GPA requirement for students to receive the Achievement Scholarship.
Because the award is competitive and targets high-achieving students, academic performance plays an important role in selection.
Binghamton also allows applicants to apply without SAT or ACT scores. Students may still submit these scores if they want the university to consider them during academic review or use them to meet an English-proficiency requirement.
English Language Requirements
International students who are not native English speakers generally need to demonstrate English proficiency. Binghamton accepts several tests, including TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, PTE, Cambridge English, SAT, ACT, IB Higher Level, and O-Level English.
The university currently reports the following mid-50% score ranges for admitted international students:
| Test | Mid-50% Range |
|---|---|
| IELTS | 6.5–7.0 |
| Duolingo English Test | 110–120 |
| PTE | 53–65 |
| Cambridge English | 176–185 |
| TOEFL iBT before 21 Jan 2026 | 80–95 |
| Revised TOEFL from 21 Jan 2026 | 4.0–5.0 |
Documents Required
International first-year applicants must submit their admission application along with the required academic records.
Binghamton asks international students to provide official transcripts covering their most recent years of secondary education.
Applicants must also provide English-proficiency evidence unless they qualify for an approved waiver.
Students admitted on an F-1 or J-1 visa will later need to provide financial-support documents before the university issues an I-20 or DS-2019.
These documents include a financial statement and official evidence showing that sufficient funds are available for the first year of study.
How to Apply
Pakistani students should first complete an undergraduate admission application to Binghamton University through one of the application methods accepted by the university.
Applicants must then submit their required academic records and English-proficiency evidence within the relevant admission timeline.
Students do not need to submit a separate form for the Achievement Scholarship. Binghamton University automatically considers eligible undergraduate admission applicants for scholarship opportunities.
Applicants selected for an award will receive scholarship information as part of the admission or financial-aid process.
Scholarship Duration
Recipients can continue receiving the Achievement Scholarship for up to four years of undergraduate study. However, students must remain eligible and maintain the minimum GPA specified in their individual scholarship award.
Twenty recipients can therefore receive as much as $40,000 over four years, while students selected for the highest award could receive support worth up to approximately $120,000 over four years, depending on the applicable cost-of-attendance limit and continued eligibility.
