The Pakistan Stock Brokers Association (PSBA) has elected Dr. Yasir Mahmood, CEO of Yasir Mahmood Securities (Pvt.) Limited, as Chairman.
The association announced his election in a post shared shortly after the development.
Dr. Mahmood thanked members for their trust and said he looked forward to working with the new team. “Truly grateful to everyone who placed their trust and confidence in me. I’m honoured to take on this responsibility and thankful for all the support and good wishes. Looking forward to working with the new team to serve PSBA with sincerity and commitment and contribute to the future of Pakistan’s capital markets,” he stated.
Dr. Mahmood has extensive experience in Pakistan’s capital markets and has previously served as President and Chairman of the Lahore Stock Exchange.
He has also served on the boards of the Central Depository Company of Pakistan, Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), and the National Clearing Corporation of Pakistan.
Dr. Mahmood currently serves as an instructor at the Centre for Executive Education at LUMS, where he teaches investing in the stock market. He is also a board member of the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP).
He holds an MBBS degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College and an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
