Pakistan Records Best Asian Games Medal Tally
Pakistan concluded their campaign at the 20th Asian Games Aichi Nagoya 2026 with 10 medals, including two silver and eight bronze, recording the country’s best performance at the continental event since 2002.
The result marked a clear improvement on recent editions, with Pakistan winning three medals in 2023, four in 2018, five in 2014 and eight in 2010. The country last won more than 10 medals in 2002, when it secured 13.
Pakistan ended the 2026 Games without a gold medal. The two silver medals came in men’s cricket and men’s team squash, while bronze medals were won in women’s cricket, men’s hockey, men’s volleyball, men’s singles squash, modern MMA, shooting and esports.

Cricket contributed two medals. The men’s team reached the final after progressing past Hong Kong on ranking following a washed-out quarter-final and then defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in the semi-final.
In the final, India posted 211-6 before restricting Pakistan to 192-6 to win by 19 runs. Hasan Nawaz starred with 96 off 51 balls, while Saim Ayub scored 29.
The women’s team secured bronze with a 31-run win over Bangladesh. Pakistan scored 145-8, led by Fatima Sana’s unbeaten 45, before restricting Bangladesh to 114-7. Umm-e-Hani took 3-10.
Squash was Pakistan’s most successful sport, producing three medals. Noor Zaman and Mohammad Ashab Irfan won bronze in men’s singles, while the men’s team claimed silver after losing 2-0 to Malaysia in the final.
Pakistan’s men’s volleyball team also ended a 64-year Asian Games medal drought. After beating India 3-0 in the quarter-final and losing to Iran in the semi-final, Pakistan defeated China 3-0 in the bronze medal match.
Murad Khan led the team with 18 points, while Afaq Khan and Ali Usman Faryad scored 14 each.
The men’s hockey team also returned to the podium after 12 years with a 5-3 win over South Korea in the bronze medal match. Pakistan came back from 3-1 down, with Rana Waheed scoring twice and Hannan Shahid adding the fifth goal late in the match.
Veteran shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir won bronze in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event after qualifying for the final with 578 points and 19 inner tens.
Pakistan also earned bronze through Asim Khan in men’s modern MMA after he reached the semi-final of the 60kg event.
In esports, Pakistan’s PUBG Mobile team 4Thrives won bronze with 100 points from 12 matches. Thailand took gold with 128 points, while China finished second with 114.
The 10-medal haul ended several long waits for Pakistan. The women’s cricket team returned to the podium after 12 years, men’s cricket won its first Asian Games medal since 2014, hockey ended a 12-year drought, and volleyball won its first medal since 1962.
Squash remained Pakistan’s strongest medal-producing sport, while shooting, MMA and esports added further depth to the overall campaign.
