Pakistan Railways Launches Newly Refurbished Passenger Train

Pakistan Railways (PR) inaugurated a refurbished Millat Express train at Faisalabad Railway Station on Thursday as part of its efforts to improve passenger services.

PR Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Hafeezullah formally inaugurated the refurbished train rake. He stated that the department had refurbished all three Millat Express rakes, with one inaugurated in Faisalabad. The train operates between Lalamusa and Karachi via Faisalabad.

Hafeezullah said Pakistan Railways planned to refurbish and upgrade the rakes of all passenger and freight trains.

Addressing media representatives and passengers, the CEO said the department was taking practical steps under the directions of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi to improve passenger services, upgrade coaches, and provide a cleaner and more comfortable travel experience.

After the inauguration, Hafeezullah inspected the refurbished rake and directed relevant officers to maintain the coaches properly, service onboard facilities regularly, and uphold high cleanliness standards.

Refurbishing rolling stock, including locomotives, is essential to reducing derailments and other railway accidents, including fatal incidents, across the network, particularly on Main Line-1, which connects Peshawar and Karachi.
