Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Abbas have made significant gains in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings, while Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and several other national players slipped down the standings.
Saud climbed 15 places to 18th following his 97-run knock in the second innings against England at Lord’s. The rise makes him Pakistan’s second-highest-ranked Test batter.
Babar Azam remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked batter despite dropping five places to 15th. Mohammad Rizwan also slipped seven spots to 33rd, while Abdullah Shafique fell eight places to 35th.
Shan Masood dropped three positions and is now ranked 43rd.
At the top of the batting rankings, England’s Harry Brook retained the No. 1 position, followed by Australia’s Steve Smith in second and Joe Root in third. Pakistan currently has no batter inside the top 10.
Pakistan also saw some major gains in the Test bowling rankings, with Mohammad Abbas making the biggest jump among the country’s bowlers.
Abbas climbed 10 places to joint-15th after taking nine wickets at Lord’s. Mohammad Ali also moved up 11 positions to 81st following his five-wicket haul in the match.
Noman Ali remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked Test bowler at No. 8 and is the country’s only bowler inside the top 10.
Australia’s Mitchell Starc continues to lead the Test bowling rankings, followed by New Zealand’s Matt Henry in second and India’s Jasprit Bumrah in third.
Among the other major movers, England’s Ollie Robinson climbed six places to a career-best fifth position in the bowling rankings. His teammate Josh Tongue also gained four spots to reach 14th.
