Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PSX: PPL) reported a 7 percent year-over-year (YoY) increase in annual profit to Rs. 98.53 billion for fiscal year 2026, supported by higher oil prices, increased hydrocarbon production and the reversal of super tax following a judgment by the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, according to a review by Arif Habib Limited (AHL).
The company also announced a record interim cash dividend of Rs. 6 per share for the fourth quarter of FY26, taking its total dividend payout for the year to a record Rs. 12 per share, AHL said.
PPL’s earnings for the fourth quarter of FY26 rose 93 percent YoY and 80 percent quarter over quarter (QoQ) to Rs. 37.38 billion, translating into earnings per share of Rs. 13.74.
The company’s sales increased 64 percent YoY to Rs. 84.9 billion during the fourth quarter, mainly due to higher oil prices and production. FY26 sales came in at Rs. 264 billion.
Among PPL’s key gas fields, Kandhkot production increased 18.6 percent YoY, while Nashpa output rose 80 percent. However, Mari production declined 4.3 percent.
On the oil side, Nashpa production increased 32.1 percent YoY, while output from the TAL Block rose 28 percent to 12,687 barrels per day, partly offsetting lower crude production caused by supply disruptions.
PPL’s other income declined 32 percent YoY to Rs. 3.2 billion during the quarter due to lower interest rates and the absence of a Rs. 1.6 billion one-off insurance claim recognized in the previous quarter.
The company’s recovery ratio stood at 86 percent during the fourth quarter, resulting in trade receivables of Rs. 623.4 billion, compared with Rs. 611.6 billion in the third quarter. The recovery ratio had stood at 88 percent in the same period a year earlier.
PPL also invested an additional Rs. 7.5 billion in the Reko Diq project in June 2026, compared with Rs. 2.6 billion in June 2025.
Its total investment in the project reached Rs. 28.6 billion in FY26, up from Rs. 12.7 billion in FY25.
