The Pakistan Aviation Authority has warned its employees, union members and office-bearers against criticizing the federal government or the authority on social media and other public platforms.
According to reports, such criticism will be treated as misconduct under the authority’s service regulations and could result in disciplinary action.
Employees have been directed not to publish, share, endorse or circulate any statement, allegation, comment, post, audio or video message criticizing the federal government, the aviation authority or their decisions.
The order also prohibits employees from circulating insulting or otherwise unauthorized statements against public office-holders of the federal government, the authority or any government or public-sector organization.
The restrictions extend to criticism of government policies, decisions and public actions. Employees have been instructed to avoid publishing or sharing any material that falls under these categories.
The authority warned that employees, union members and office-bearers who violate the instructions will face action under the relevant laws and regulations.
The new instructions have come into effect immediately.
