Pakistan’s automobile sector recorded 20%YoY growth in Aug’26, with passenger car and pickup sales reaching 15,558 units (up 20%YoY). The growth was primarily driven by the 1300cc & above segment.
Within the listed Cars & Pickups segment, HCAR posted growth of 145%YoY at 2,633 units in Aug’26 . The combined sales of City & Civic sales grew by 265%YoY with 2,553 units sold. While, the HR-V & BR-V posted 80 units (down 79%YoY) compared to 374 units in Aug’25.
INDU’s sales increased by 19%YoY to 4,029 units in Aug’26, largely driven by a 21%YoY jump in Toyota Corolla, Yaris, and Cross sales to 3,079 units. Meanwhile, IMV posted moderate growth of 12%YoY to 950 units.
GAL pickup (X200) posted growth of 213%YoY to 275 units in Aug’26, maintaining the growth despite slowdown. Truck and bus sales increased 20%YoY in Aug’26 to 875 units. GHNI remained the market leader, selling 501 units.
Meanwhile, GAL delivered 116 JAC trucks during the month, compared to just 50 units in the same period last year. The sharp increase in JAC truck sales was primarily driven by strong demand for the newly launched JAC 1120 (20-foot truck) and JAC 1042 (14-foot truck) models.
HINO performance remained sluggish, with volumes increasing by 13%YoY, indicating competitive pressure in the high-end truck segment.
