OPPO has officially unveiled the A7 Pro Max in China, bringing a massive 10,000mAh battery to its mid-range A series. The new smartphone also combines an AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, and a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
The battery is the phone’s biggest selling point, as it is the largest battery OPPO has used in a smartphone so far. The company says the battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,500 charge cycles.
Design and Display
The OPPO A7 Pro Max measures 162.98 x 77.97 x 8.57mm and weighs between 224g and 226g depending on the color. Despite its unusually large battery, OPPO has kept the phone below 9mm thick.
The phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1272 x 2772 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, which should make the screen easier to view outdoors. An optical fingerprint scanner is built into the display.
The phone also carries an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance, providing greater protection against harsh environmental conditions.
Internals and Software
The A7 Pro Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. This is a mid-range processor designed to provide everyday performance while keeping power consumption relatively low.
The phone comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The configurations listed for the phone include 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
The smartphone runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
Cameras
For photography, the A7 Pro Max has a dual-camera setup on the rear. It includes a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2MP monochrome camera.
The front camera is a 50MP f/2.0 sensor with autofocus. The high-resolution selfie camera is notable for a mid-range phone and should also be useful for video calls and selfies.
Battery and Pricing
The A7 Pro Max packs a huge 10,000 mAh battery, making battery capacity the phone’s standout feature. OPPO says the battery can maintain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,500 charging cycles.
It supports 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The latter allows the phone to act as a power source for compatible devices.
The OPPO A7 Pro Max starts at $325 in China.
Pakistan Launch?
OPPO has not announced a Pakistan launch for the A7 Pro Max. The company’s official Pakistan website currently lists several A-series models, but the A7 Pro Max is not among them.
This means a Pakistan launch remains possible, particularly given OPPO’s established presence in the country, but there is currently no official confirmation. If OPPO does bring the phone to Pakistan, its local price is likely to be higher than the direct Chinese price conversion because of taxes, duties, and other market costs.
