Nothing’s CMF brand has officially launched its first portable Bluetooth speakers, the CMF Speaker S and CMF Speaker M.
Both models feature Bluetooth 6.0, IP68 dust and water resistance, multi-speaker connectivity and up to 18 hours of battery life.
The smaller Speaker S costs $59, while the more powerful Speaker M is priced at $109.
CMF Speaker S
The CMF Speaker S uses a 45mm full-range driver paired with two passive radiators.
It produces up to 10W RMS output and has a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz.
Despite being the smaller model, it supports the same core connectivity and sound-processing features as the Speaker M. The Speaker S is available in White, Turquoise, Dark Grey, and Orange.
CMF Speaker M
The larger Speaker M significantly increases audio output.
It combines a dedicated 25W woofer with a 10W tweeter, providing a total output of 35W RMS.
Its frequency response extends from 60Hz to 20kHz, giving it deeper bass capability than the Speaker S. The Speaker M is also available in White, Turquoise, Dark Grey, and Orange.
Adaptive Audio and Ultra Bass
Both speakers use CMF’s Adaptive Tuning algorithm, which continuously analyzes playback and adjusts output and EQ in real time.
Users can also activate Ultra Bass mode or Wide Soundstage mode.
The Nothing X app provides four additional EQ presets:
- Balanced
- More Bass
- More Treble
- Voice
Stereo and Party Modes
Both speakers support Stereo Mode, which allows two identical models to work together as a stereo pair.
They also support Party Mode, CMF’s implementation of Auracast.
Unlike Stereo Mode, Party Mode can connect two or more compatible speakers and can also work with supported speakers from other brands.
Bluetooth 6.0 and USB-C Audio
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.0, NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
Both speakers support dual-device connectivity, allowing them to remain connected to two source devices simultaneously.
CMF has also included USB-C audio, allowing a wired digital audio connection in addition to Bluetooth.
Physical Controls
A tactile rotary knob provides direct control over playback.
It can adjust volume, navigate tracks, and toggle Ultra Bass mode.
Separate buttons handle power, Bluetooth pairing, and Auracast.
Up to 18 Hours of Battery Life
Both the Speaker S and Speaker M are rated for up to 18 hours of playback at 50% volume with Ultra Bass enabled.
A 10-minute charge provides around one hour of playback.
Both models also carry an IP68 rating, offering stronger dust and water protection than the IP54 rating suggested by earlier retailer leaks.
