Nimir Industrial Chemicals to Invest Rs. 3 Billion in 3 Major Projects

Nimir Industrial Chemicals Limited (PSX: NICL) has approved new capital expenditure of Rs. 3 billion for three projects, including a new Palmitic Acid plant, expansion of its Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) and Chlorine Liquefaction plants, and relocation of an oleochemicals plant from Sheikhupura to Hub, Balochistan.

The company disclosed the decision to the Pakistan Stock Exchange after its board approved and recommended the investments at a meeting held on Sept. 9, 2026.

The new Palmitic Acid plant will create a new business line for the company. Palmitic Acid is used in animal nutrition for milking cows, and Nimir said additional products are planned for the segment.

Nimir will also expand its CPW plant along with the Chlorine Liquefaction plant, which supplies the basic feedstock for CPW production. The company said demand for CPW has increased significantly following its localization in Pakistan and is expected to grow further.

The company will relocate one of its oleochemicals plants from Sheikhupura to Hub, Balochistan. Nimir said the move will strengthen its presence in the southern region, support local demand and improve export opportunities through sea routes.

Nimir expects the benefits from the three capital expenditure projects to start from FY28 onward.
