A new experimental Chinese language and culture course has been launched in Islamabad as part of efforts to strengthen cultural exchange between Pakistan and China.
The course was inaugurated at a ceremony titled “The Language of the Eastern Silk Road”, with Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi attending as the chief guest.
Around 50 Pakistani and Chinese participants are taking part in the program, which introduces students to the Chinese language, calligraphy, traditional festivals, and other aspects of Chinese culture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Khichi said cultural and language exchanges can play an important role in strengthening Pakistan-China relations. He described language as a bridge between civilizations that helps build lasting trust between nations.
The minister said the program would provide a long-term platform for cultural exchange among young people and encouraged participants to become ambassadors of Pakistan-China friendship by learning more about Chinese language and culture.
Highlighting the close relationship between the two countries, Khichi described Pakistan-China friendship as “higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans and sweeter than honey.”
