NCCIA to Use AI to Track Online Crimes Against Children
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has signed agreements with international artificial intelligence (AI) organizations to strengthen its efforts against online crimes involving children.
NCCIA Lahore Additional Director Atif Ameer said AI-assisted analysis had already helped identify and arrest a suspect in Gujranwala.
He said the agency had also arrested three suspects during the past week in cases involving child sexual abuse material.
The suspects were identified as Hassan Akram, accused of sharing inappropriate content involving children, Faizan Ahmad, accused of uploading such material, and Ammar, accused of distributing it through online groups.
The official said cooperation with international AI organizations would help the NCCIA detect and investigate such cases more effectively.
Meanwhile, the agency has intensified its crackdown on illegal call centers in Lahore, arresting 281 suspects, including 21 foreign nationals, in recent raids.
Ameer said illegal call centers would not be allowed to operate in the city, while action against foreign nationals involved in cybercrime would continue.
The NCCIA is also pursuing cases involving online harassment, blackmail, and the circulation of private photographs and videos.
The official confirmed that another suspect was arrested in Farooqabad on Thursday night as part of the agency’s ongoing investigations.
