NCCIA Educates Students on OTP Scams and Online Fraud

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has conducted cyber awareness sessions at schools and colleges in Multan, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Sahiwal to educate students and teachers on online fraud, cyber harassment and safe social media use.

The agency’s respective circles organised the campaigns under the direction of Director General NCCIA Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with large numbers of students and faculty taking part.

NCCIA officers taught participants how to use social media safely and responsibly, and how to shield themselves from online harassment.

The sessions delivered practical guidance on spotting fake links, avoiding One-Time Password (OTP) scams, fraudulent loan apps, and online financial fraud.

Officers warned that cybercriminals often bait victims with fake prize offers and job opportunities to steal personal data and money. Students and teachers also learned how to report cybercrime complaints via the NCCIA helpline 1799.

Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said protecting the younger generation from cyber threats remains a top priority, and that awareness campaigns will continue nationwide to promote safe digital habits and build a secure Digital Pakistan.
