NCCIA Arrests Over 1,100 in Nationwide Cybercrime Crackdown

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested 1,129 suspects and recovered Rs. 105.3 million during a nationwide crackdown on cybercrime over the past month.

The recovered money has been returned to the victims, according to the agency’s monthly performance report released on Sunday.

The report, covering the first month since Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi took charge, revealed that the NCCIA received 5,176 complaints and launched 4,491 inquiries during the period.

Following the completion of inquiries, the agency registered 272 cases against individuals suspected of involvement in cybercrime.

Rizvi said protecting citizens from online threats remains a top priority and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strictly enforcing its zero-tolerance policy against cybercrime.

He added that as digital technology becomes an integral part of national life, safeguarding citizens, institutions, and digital infrastructure is not just a law enforcement responsibility but a national necessity.
