NCCIA Arrests Man for Planning Ex-Girlfriend’s Murder Using Claude

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Islamabad has registered an FIR against a man accused of using Claude AI to seek ideas about killing his former girlfriend.

According to the agency’s statement, the case followed an inquiry into the alleged misuse of the AI tool and digital communication platforms. The inquiry concerned statements expressing an intention to kill a former partner.

The FIR alleges that the accused sought murder-related ideas through Claude. These allegations remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.

Since the statement, the NCCIA has arrested the accused but has not provided details about the communications examined during the inquiry.

NCCIA urged users to exercise responsibility when using artificial intelligence tools and digital platforms, warning against their misuse for threats, intimidation, or criminal activity.

The agency said it remained committed to investigating emerging cyber-enabled threats, protecting citizens, and ensuring accountability through lawful investigations. Its announcement concerns the alleged conduct of the user, rather than any confirmed role by Claude in facilitating a crime.
