NCCIA Arrests 2 Fake Pakistan Army Officers Scamming Citizens

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested two suspects in Karachi for allegedly impersonating senior Pakistan Army and government officers to defraud citizens.

The arrests were made during an operation conducted by the NCCIA Karachi Zone in the Korangi Industrial Area. The suspects were identified as Muzammil, son of Badruddin Qureshi, and Hamza, son of Muhammad Aslam.

According to officials, the suspects falsely claimed to have connections and influence within the military and government departments. They allegedly misused the name and reputation of the Pakistan Army to gain the trust of citizens.

The suspects reportedly collected large sums of money by promising to arrange transfers, appointments, and other official matters through their claimed connections.

Authorities said the suspects deceived citizens by presenting themselves as authorized military officers and making false promises to get official work done.

A case has been registered against both suspects under FIR No. 114/2026, citing Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Sections 13, 14, and 16 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Amendment Act 2025.
