NAB Karachi has summoned responsible officers of the School Education Department on October 20, seeking details of appointments made between 1989 and 2020.
In a letter, the accountability bureau said the Sindh High Court’s Larkana bench had issued an order on June 30, 2026, and a joint investigation team met on June 15, 2026.
According to the letter, the investigation began following the directives of the Sindh High Court’s Larkana bench, as the School Education Department has failed to provide the required complete records to NAB since 2020 despite repeated letters and reminders.
NAB stated that the continued failure to provide records is delaying compliance with the Sindh High Court’s directives, and that these records are essential for identifying the officers and officials responsible for illegal appointments.
School Education Department officers have been directed to personally appear before the joint investigation team at NAB Karachi on October 20 and bring complete information regarding appointments of teachers, technicians and other staff made from 1989 onwards.
