Lawyers in Multan beat up the suspect accused of crushing 15-year-old orphan Wasim to death before announcing they would refuse to represent the killer, while another lawyer has offered to fight the case for the victim’s family free of charge.
The advocate representing Wasim said the local legal community had united to support the family and help it seek justice through the courts.
The lawyer told local media that he would fight the case without charging the family any legal fees.
Residents of the society also decided to stand together in support of Wasim through legal channels.
Videos uploaded on social media show that other people were also present with the suspect at the time of the incident.
At the time of the tragedy, one person was in the car with the killer, while two others were on a motorcycle nearby. Lawyers said some of the individuals had not yet been traced and the police were working to locate them.
The lawyers’ community has pledged legal support for the victim’s family and announced that no advocate from Multan would appear on behalf of the killer.
The family is facing severe distress following the incident.
