The Bhatti Chowk Underpass in Lahore has been completed in just four months and opened to traffic, according to the Punjab government. The project was completed as part of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision of public service.
The Punjab government said the underpass has addressed the long-standing traffic congestion problem in Lahore’s Inner City and the area around Data Darbar. The project has improved traffic flow in the area, reducing travel times for motorists and transporters.
A citizen said the journey through the area previously took 10 to 15 minutes, but now takes only two to three minutes after the underpass opened. Citizens and transporters have welcomed the project and expressed appreciation for the Punjab government’s efforts to complete the underpass in a short period.
The government said the project would help ensure smoother traffic movement in one of Lahore’s busiest areas and ease congestion that had affected commuters for years. The Bhatti Chowk Underpass is now open to traffic, allowing motorists to use the newly completed route.
